Premier of Israel Benjamin Netanyahu stated that the country intends to maintain heightened readiness and continue its policy of deterring Iran. He described the struggle as “unfinished” and asserted that Israel must continually defend its security. “My mission in life is to fight against Iran’s nuclear program,” Netanyahu emphasized, highlighting that regardless of agreements, Tehran should not obtain nuclear weapons.
He also stated that Israeli actions have already inflicted “significant damage” on Iran’s economy, which, according to estimates, could amount to hundreds of billions of dollars. The Prime Minister added that Israel would maintain control over “security zones” for as long as it deems necessary to protect the state.
Netanyahu separately noted that Israel will continue to strengthen international alliances and develop defensive self-sufficiency. He acknowledged occasional differences with U.S. President Donald Trump, particularly regarding regional strategies. “I did not say that the objective of the operation was to overthrow the Iranian regime,” he clarified, responding to speculation about the aims of current Israeli policy.
